Engaging Our Youngest Minds

http://k12online.ning.com/video/engaging-our-youngest-minds

The lady in the video is telling a story about a girl who was invested in changing the world. Her passion was saving animals and collecting change to keep them alive. The shocker of this video is that she is in preschool. The person mentions there is a lack of passion among youth. She talks about how schools are pushing students away from passion. She wants passion to truly thrive in our schools. She wants to keep the natural curiosity of the youth for as long as possible. She thinks it’s the most important to help conduct learning. The lady wants this little girl Hailey to publish her ‘books’ online and communicate with scientists. Technology isn’t what is engaging, it’s the passion that helps them engage with the learning. Technology is going to connect them to their future. This lady is giving Hailey the tools she needs in the future to push her passion as far as possible. The parents wrote a note about how learning never ends and they hope that this lady will keep helping Hailey like she has been so far. In the end to sum up what she has been saying is a clip of this adorable boy. He is playing Jason Mraz on a guitar and he looks to be about 4 and a half years old. Overall I think her message was that passion is what drives this world and we need to make sure our youth don’t forget it!
